Garden of the Gods
The Garden of the Gods Park is popular for hiking, technical rock climbing, road and mountain biking and horseback riding. It attracts more than two million visitors a year, making it the city's most visited park. There are 21 miles of trails. Annual events including summer running races, recreational bike rides and Pro Cycling Challenge Prologue also take place in this park.
The main trail in the park, the 1.5-mile Perkins Central Garden Trail, is paved and wheelchair-accessible, running through the heart of the park's largest and most scenic red rocks. The trail begins at the North Parking lot, the main parking lot off of Juniper Way Loop.
Because of the unusual and steep rock formations in the park, it is an attractive destination for rock climbers. Rock climbing is permitted, with annual permits obtained at the City of Colorado Springs' website.

The Broadmoor Golf Club
Set in the Cheyenne Mountain foothills of Colorado Springs, the original Broadmoor Golf Club's 18-hole course was designed by classic architect Donald Ross in 1916 at the behest of Spencer Penrose, who envisioned turning his new rough, mountain property into a world-class resort. Ross, who had designed golf courses for several of the top clubs in the country, declared The Broadmoor's golf course in Colorado Springs his best work. An impressive statement, considering his last project had been another classic layout now named Pinehurst No. 2.
When Broadmoor East opened in 1918, it was the highest golf course in the United States at 6,400 feet in elevation. In 1948, Robert Trent Jones, Sr. was hired to design an additional nine-hole course. Jones' new nine-hole course joined with nine of Ross' original holes, opened in 1952 as the new East Course. The first nine holes of the original Ross 18 became known as the "Back Nine."
In 1964, Robert Trent Jones, Sr. was asked to come back and design nine new holes in addition to redesigning nine holes of the original course, forming the West Course.
